Nature: New church for Trustees of Howth and Malahide Presbyterian Churches to accommodate about 400 on site in Deer Park of Howth Castle demesne.  Late 14th century Gothic style.  Limestone rubble with Monk's Park stone dressings. FS laid 22 Sep 1898 by Mrs Hone, St Doulough's Park, Raheny. Opened, 12 Aug 1900. Builder: Joseph Small, Malahide.  Clerk of Works: William Lacy, Howth. Pitch-pine pews by T.R. Scott & Co., Dublin. Herringbone oak-block floor by Bourke & Co., Walthamstow. Joseph Small claimed payment of expenses due to him in legal action (Joseph Small v. William Baird, Rev. James Wilson, Joseph McFarlane and James Dickie), Feb 1903.

Nature: Remodelling.  Reorientation 'became necessary owing to a change Imposed upon the original promoters, who had to place the structure with its main axis running north and south instead of east and west, as they had contemplated'. Base of tower at N end opened into nave to form chancel.  Pulpit moved from S wall to corner beside chancel arch.  Floor of new chancel raised by 2 steps. Choir stoalls formed from old gallery fronts. New entrance via transept.  Contractors: Mssrs Keatinge.
