'The church is a neat edifice, in the later English style, with a square tower crowned withe minarets, for the erection of which the late Board of first Fruits, in 1815, granted a loan of £1600.'(Lewis) According to Clergy of Kilmore, Elphin and Ardagh, it was built in 1820 at a cost of ££1476.18s.5½d.
