Plans prepared, 1877. Improvement and enlargement, nearly complete, 1879. Church reopened after a' large outlay'., Nov? 1879. Arcade of 3 arches substituted for north wall and aisle 13 ft wide added 'with a monumentary chapel placed transeptwise at the chancel end; chapel, , flooring and reseating of nave carried out at sole cost of Earl of Courtown, who also presented reader's desk. Pulpit given by Hon. E. Stopford, Borris, Co. Carlow. Work executed in early pointed tyle from Irish examples. Stone dressings of Bagenalstown ganite. Contractor: B.W. Webster, Gorey.
