Nature: 'A pretty cottage with six rooms, each 14 feet by 13 feet, beautifully situated on Dalkey Hill with full view of Dublin Bay. Messrs. Pugin and Ashlin Architects. Gardens in front and rere. Lease for ever, and rent free.' The cottage was the first prize in a Grand Draw to raise funds for the completion of the Church of the Sacred Heart, by Pugin & Ashlin, at Donnybrook which was built 1863-33.
