Nature: Gift of Earl of Pembroke to Pembroke Urban District Council, opened by Lord Liutenant, 19 Aug 1911.  'The Pembroke Council...fenced and laid out the park and erected the buildings now standing on it; the contractors for the ground work being Messrs. J. Cheal, of Crawley, Sussex, under the direction of the Council's surveyor, Mr John Middleton, and the contractors for the building being Messrs. T.W. Scott & Co., of Dublin, under the supervision of Mr. Edwin Bradbury, architect.'
