Nature: New Gothic, cruciform church replacing one in Shandon St.  Limestone lined with Bath stone. £2000 still needed in Mar 1878 to complete works. Money ran out in 1878 but further contributions from Francis Wise (totalling £3750) made it possible to continue; 'all but completed within two years'.  Consecrated by Bishop John Gregg, 1879. Francis Wise gave over £6,000 in all towards building. Contractor: John Delany.  Top stone of steeple laid, 28 Jun 1881.
