Nature: Rebuilding 'on a palatial scale' for AA and Motor Union Insurance Co. Site clearing begun early 1919. Contractor: Frazer, Lr Gloucester St. In 1920, rebuilding 'progressing rapidly'; some of the stones used in the front elevation 'very large and of an ornate character, sunk, moulded and carved'. The carved stone work was done in situ by Mr J. Greene, Ranelagh.
