Nature: '…a large building on the outside but no so within. The steeple which seems to have been very ill contrived so unfinished and so is one gallery in the church which is said to have been a design of Cassels.'(Beaufort) Datestone in wall of church grounds records RC as architect. Damaged in rising of 1798 and rebuilt.
