Nature: Monument to Marquess of Londonderry in form of Scottish Baronial tower. Designed by Charles Lanyon, who won 3rd or 4th place in competition. Cost: £3010. (But obituary of Lynn in IB 57, 25 Sep 1915, 431, says it was designed by Lynn). FS laid Mar 1857. Contractor: Hugh Dixon, Newtownards.
