New semi-circular chancel to be added, organ to be moved from W gallery to NE corner, choir to be moved from gallery to E end; new pulpit, reading desk, lectern.  Gallery fronts to be lowered with open iron work. Corporation seat to be moved from N gallery to W gallery (where organ was before). Church reopened 22 Sep 1878. Contr: Barry McMullen. Improvements in progress, Apr 1878; present contract to cost £1,200.  At least £600 still required for other necessary things. Alterations almost completed, Jul 1878. Chancel added. New organ by Lewis & Co., London. Church reopened, 22 Sep 1878.
