Nature: New church to hold 350, given to 7th Vct Powerscourt as a coming of age present by his mother Elizabeth, Marchioness of Londonderry, who bore entire cost of  £3,411.9s.2d. FS laid by Lord Powersscourt Sep or Oct 1857. Consecrated 15 Sep 1863.  Copper spire substituted for a slate one. Church criticised for being too small.
