Opened 8 Dec 1909. Contractor: James Wynne, Dundalk. Clerk of Works: Daniel Doran. Cost: £5,594. (NB In description of opening ceremony in Freeman's Journal, 11 Dec 1900, only T.F. McNamara is mentioned as architect of orphanage buildings - did McNamara in fact design both male and female orphanages?)
