Dublin-born architect, who was practising at Bahia Blanca, Argentina, in the second decade of of the twentieth century. A design by him for a bungalow, is described in the Irish Builder for 14 September 1912, and illustrated in a perspective view.(1) John Patrick Caren, a single, Irish-born engineer and architect is recorded as arriving in Buenos Aires from England twice in the 1920s: first in 27 October 1923 and again on 29 September 1928, his age being given as forty-five and forty-nine respectively.(2) This almost certainly identifies him as John Caren, son of James and Anne Caren of Dublin, who was born in Dublin on 29 October 1878.(3) In this case he was almost certainly a younger brother of JOSEPH L. CAREN. JOSEPH L. CAREN.
