(1) According to his gravestone in Glasnevin Cemetery, Caldbeck was 48 when he died; Craig, op. cit., questions this.
(2) According to Craig, op. cit., because Richard Caldbeck married a Catholic, his children were edited out of Burke's Landed Gentry of Ireland, and the Moyle Park estate was left to a remote cousin. However, as Caldbeck received support and patronage from his uncle, William Caldbeck of Moyle Park, who appears to have been sympathetic to Catholicism, there appears to be no reason to suppose that the property passed to the cousin on this account.
