Architect, of Wicklow, Cork and Dublin. John Peter Butler was the third son of M.J. Butler, of the Medical Hall, Wicklow. He was apprenticed to JONES & KELLY JONES & KELLY from 1938 until 1942 and worked as an assistant in the firm for a further year. From 1943 to 1944 he was an assistant in the firm of W.H. BYRNE & SON. BYRNE & SON. According to his obituaries, he subsequently took up a post with Cork Corporation, returning to Dublin in 1959 to practise at 24 South Frederick Street; however, his addresses suggest that he was working for the firm of O'CONNOR & AYLWARD CONNOR & AYLWARD in Dawson Street, Dublin, from 1944 until at least 1957. He died in 1961.
