Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

English architect, for whom see Directory of British Architects 1834-1914 (RIBA 2001), I, 1077.  Edmund Kirby, a pupil of EDWARD WELBY PUGIN EDWARD WELBY PUGIN , is possibly the 'Mr Kirkby' who was an entrant in the competition for designing the Ulster Bank head office in Belfast held in 1857.(1)  Edward Welby Pugin and his then partner JOHN MURRAY  JOHN MURRAY submitted a design, so it is at least possible that their young pupil may have done so.
