Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Building contractors, of Belfast.   The firm of James Henry & Sons was founded by Hugh Henry in Belfast. By 1854 Hugh Henry had taken his son James Henry (d.1882) into partnership.(1)  James Henry carried on the business after his father's death and, in turn, took his two sons, ROBERT BOYD HENRY  ROBERT BOYD HENRY and Hugh Henry into partnership.   The firm of James Henry & Sons, which was in a flourishing condition in 1900, was responsible for the erection of many important buildings in Belfast, including the Belfast Bank, the Ulster Bank and Bank Buildings.
