Stained-glass artist, of Munich, active from the 1860s. F.X. Zettler, a son-in-law and employee of Josef Gabriel Mayer, of Munich (see MAYER & CO. MAYER & CO. ) founded his own glass-making company in Munich in 1870. The company, which was appointed the Royal Bavarian Art Institute for Stained Glass by Ludwig II in 1882, was immensely successful internationally and exported a large number of windows to the United States. It remained in operation after F.X. Zettler's death and in 1939 merged with Mayer & Co.
