Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Ecclesiastical decorator. Walter Clarke was the elder son of JOSHUA CLARKE  JOSHUA CLARKE and brother of HARRY CLARKE  HARRY CLARKE (qqv.). He worked in his father's ecclesiastical decoration business, which he inherited in 1921. According to MacNamee, he painted the murals in Shrule Catholic church, Co. Longford, built 1903-1906.(1)
