Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Gardener and landscape architect, active in the 1780s. Deane advertised his willingness to make designs 'for improving and ornamenting demesnes…in the modern taste' in Faulkner's Dublin Journal for 17-18 June 1789. He had 'transacted business' for John Haverfield the younger (1741-1820), who had worked at the Royal Gardens at Richmond, and was qualified to lay out 'ground, rural wood-works and water in the newest taste' and to construct stoves and forcing houses.
