Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Architectural partnership formed in 1860 or early in 1861 by THOMAS TURNER  THOMAS TURNER and RICHARD WILLIAMSON. T RICHARD WILLIAMSON. T he creation of the partnership appears to have been the result of two separate events which took place in July 1860: the opening of an office in Glasgow by Turner and the appointment of Williamson as county surveyor for Co. Derry. In 1861 the partnership arrangements were extended to include THOMAS DREW THOMAS DREW , who was then based in Belfast, but Drew's participation came to an end the following year when he moved to Dublin. The partnership of Turner & Williamson continued to operate in Co. Derry until Williamson's death in 1874. As Turner was largely engaged in Glasgow and Belfast, it seems likely that Williamson was responsible for most of the works which were executed by the partnership in Co. Derry.
