Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Architect, of London, for whom see Directory of British Architects 1834-1914 (RIBA 2001), II, 923-5. In Ireland Alfred Waterhouse worked at Kircassock House, Co. Down, for Jonathan Joseph Richardson, MP, circa 1865(1) and is also said to have designed the offices at Hilden Mills, Co. Antrim.(2)   He acted as assessor for the Dublin South City Markets competition of 1878,(3)  the Slieve Donard Hotel competition of 1895(4) and - with JOSIAH CORBETT BRETLAND -  JOSIAH CORBETT BRETLAND - for the Belfast City Hall competition the following year.(5)
