Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Builder, of Ann Street, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, listed as such in Pigot and Co.'s City of Dublin and Hibernian Provincial Directory (1824). He was the eldest son of Thomas Tinsley, builder, of Clonmel, and a brother of WILLIAM TINSLEY WILLIAM TINSLEY . He had taken over his father's business by 1820, running the family firm with the help of his younger brother Thomas Tinsley, jr, and a partner, John Hanly. He died from the effects of a ruptured blood-vessel in the stomach on 28 November 1825. He was married to a daughter of Charles Riall, of Clonmel.
