Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Engineer, of Limerick, active from the 1890s until the 1920s. Brian Sheehy was born in 1870. According to Who's Who in Architecture (1923), he was educated at 'University College, Blackrock, Co. Dublin' (presumably Blackrock College), and was then articled to SAMUEL GORDON FRASER  SAMUEL GORDON FRASER of Dublin. He was in private practice in Limerick from 1903 or earlier. He was elected joint architect (with MARTIN E. TIERNEY MARTIN E. TIERNEY ) to the Ennis Asylum board in 1909(1) and elected engineer to Newcastle West District Council in 1924.(2) He was also architect to the Thomond Artisans' Dwellings Co., Limerick. He died in 1929 or 1930.(3)   He had married his wife, Elizabeth, in 1908 or 1909, and at the time of the 1911 census had a baby daughter, Sarah.  His pupils and assistants included PATRICK JOHN FITZGERALD MUNDEN. PATRICK JOHN FITZGERALD MUNDEN.
