Designer and builder of the 'glass corridor' at Bellevue , Co. Wicklow, a range of conservatories 264 feet long, begun circa 1786. When John Ferrar visited Bellevue in 1796 he noted that the outline of the range was 'nearly finished by Mr Shanley, a native of Ireland, and an ingenious honest man'.(1)
