Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Builder?, of Dublin. Anthony Semple was admitted a Freeman of the City of Dublin as a member of the Bricklayers' Guild by virtue of birth at Michaelmas 1792, as was John Semple, who may have been JOHN SEMPLE [2]. JOHN SEMPLE [2]. (1) Anthony Semple may have been a younger brother of John Semple [2]; the register of St Thomas's church, Dublin, records the baptism of Anthony, son of John and Lydia Semple of Gloucester Street, Dublin, on 28 November 1771.(2) An Anthony Semple of Malahide married Marcella, daughter of Alexander Legge, High Sheriff of Co. Antrim. A transcript of his will, dated 1834, is listed in the Eneclann Index of Irish Wills 1484-1858 but can no longer be traced.
