ROBINSON, ALEXANDER WILLIAM

Architect, of Dublin, active in the 1870 and 1880s. Alexander Robinson was elected to the committee of the newly-formed Architectural Association of Ireland in 1872.(1) He was an unsuccessful entrant in the competitions for Strabane Presbyterian church, 1870, and for Rathmines glebe house, 1875. Both of his designs were published in the Irish Builder,(2) and the Strabane church design was exhibited at the Royal Hibernian Academy in 1875.(3) He may have been assistant in the office of O'NEILL & BYRNE around this time.(4)
