Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Bricklayer and builder, of Dublin, active in the 1770s. Francis Reid of Bolton Street took over the business of his father JOHN REID  JOHN REID following the latter's death in November 1772. In Faulkner's Dublin Journal for 12-14 November 1772 he announced that 'Francis Reid and his son John Reid of Bolton Street…intend carrying on the bricklaying Business in the same extensive manner as their late father John Reid'. Francis and John Reid, builders, are listed in Wilson's Dublin Directory for the years 1774 and 1776 with an address in Upper Dorset Street.
