Civil engineer, of Dunlavin, Co. Wicklow. According to his 1911 census return, John Ramsay was born in Co. Donegal in 1861 or 1862 and had an ME degree from Queen's University. He succeeded JOSEPH BERRY JOSEPH BERRY as architect to Shillelagh Union in 1891 and was an assistant county surveyor for Co. Wicklow from 1900 or earlier until 1918 or later. At the time of the 1911 census, he had been married to his wife, Mary Elizabeth, for eighteen years and had three children
