Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

English architect, for whom see Directory of British Architects 1834-1914 (RIBA 2001), II, 377. Godfrey Pinkerton was the author of an article on 'Some Dublin Buildings' which was published in the Architectural Review in 1906 and reprinted as a 12-page pamphlet for circulation among members of the RIBA attending the Institute's conference in Dublin in June 1931. The anonymous author of a long and critical review of the pamphlet in the Irish Builder deplored the fact that 'the RIBA should have officially issued and circulated it without revision or editing, therby perpetuating some age-worn legends or traditions not borne out by facts or reliable evidence'.(1)
