Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Overseer of City Works, Dublin, in the 1720s and 1730s.(1) In 1729 a contract was signed whereby Nelson was to supervise the erection of an octagonal steeple for St Werburgh's church by the stonecutter WILLIAM BORRADALE WILLIAM BORRADALE ; this was apparently not carried out.(2) Nelson was one of the three representatives of the Carpenters' Guild on the Common Council of Dublin in 1720, 1723 and 1726.(3)
