Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

City surveyor of Limerick , 1899-1932. Joseph Peacocke, who, according to his 1911 census return, was born in in Limerick in 1866 or 1867,  had an engineering degree and  was appointed city surveyor of Limerick in 1899, in succession to WILLIAM EDWARD CORBETT.& WILLIAM EDWARD CORBETT.& #160; He retired on an allowance of £573.17s. in 1932.(1)  At the time of the 1911 census, he had been married for eight years to his wife, Josephine, but had no children.

Association of Municipal & County Engineers: admitted member, 1 October 1921.(2)
