Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Carpenter, of Limavady, Co. Derry. Robert Given was born in 1789 and died in 1832.(1) An undated design, signed 'Robert Given, carpenter', for extensions to the yard at New Walworth, Co. Derry, is among the Fishmongers' papers in the Guildhall Library, London.(2)

Robert Given may have been the father of GEORGE GIVEN. GEORGE GIVEN.

Nature: 'he couart house was built in 1830 by the grand jury at an expense of 950 pounds. It is a wll designed building with a neat, architectural front. Annexed to it is a bridewell' (OS memoir). Rowan and Girvan say 'probably' by RG.
