Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Architect and engineer of Dublin.  According to the 1901 census of Ireland, John Leslie O'Hanlon [1] was born in Dublin circa 1824.  Little is known for certain of his long career or his works, as he had a younger namesake (probably his son) who was also an architect and engineer named John Leslie O' Hanlon (see JOHN LESLIE O'HANLON [2] JOHN LESLIE O'HANLON [2] ).  The elder man appears to have died in Dublin in 1904 at the age of eighty-one(1) and is described as 'the late Mr John L. O'Hanlon, Architect' by his former pupil THOMAS JOSEPH CULLEN  THOMAS JOSEPH CULLEN in November 1908.(2)
