Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Engineer. Arthur O'Connor was born on 18 May 1888 and educated at Blackrock College. He entered Trinity College, Dublin, in 1906 and graduated wih the BA and BAI degrees in 1910.(1) This was followed by a year in the office of PATRICK HARNETT MCCARTHY PATRICK HARNETT MCCARTHY , when he was engaged on various sewerage and waterworks schemes. He was appointed engineer to Co. Dublin Rural District Council No. 2(2) and to Celbridge Rural District Council Nos. 1 and 2 early in 1911 and became an assistant county surveyor for Co. Kildare soon afterwards. He died in 1950 or 1951.(3)
