Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Engineer, of Manorhamilton, Co. Leitrim, and Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh.  James O'Brien, who , according to the 1911 census, was born in co. Leitrim in 1859 or 1860, was appointed engineer to Enniskillen No. 1 Rural District Council, under the Labourers' Acts at the beginning of 1912, in succession to a Mr Lee, who had resigned.(1)   At the time of the 1911 census, he had been married for five years to his wife, Mary Kate, and had three children.
