MCDONNELL, ALEXANDER EDWARD
- Born: - Died: -
Architect, of Belfast. McDonnell, a son of JOHN JOSEPH MCDONNELL appears to have been taken into partnership by his father in 1921, together with HUGH LAMONT . This partnership of MCDONNELL , LAMONT & MCDONNELL came to an end with the death of John Joseph McDonnell in September 1923. Alexander Edward McDonnell's career after this date is rather obscure. It may be he who practised briefly as McDonnell & Son in 1925;(1) in 1926 he designed housing in Downpatrick under his own name.(2) He ceased to be a member of the RIAI circa 1931.
RIAI: elected member, 1925;(3) still a member by 1930 but no longer so 1932.
Addresses: 27 Chichester Street, Belfast, 1921-24; 32 Ann Street, Belfast, 1926; 27 Chichester Street, Belfast, 1926-1930.
See WORKS; see also works of MCDONNELL , LAMONT & MCDONNELL.
