Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Architect, of Birkenhead, England, for whom see Directory of British Architects 1834-1914 (RIBA 2001), I, 409-10. According to the diary of CHARLES BLACKER VIGNOLES CHARLES BLACKER VIGNOLES , the footbridge built for Lord Cloncurry over the Dublin & Kingstown Railway at Blackrock in 1833-4 was designed by him.(1)

Nature: Sheehy suggests that bridge, tunnel and temple on estates of Lord Cloncurry and Sir Harcourt Lees are possibly by John Skipton Mulvany, but O'Dwyer says that bridge has been attributed to William Cole.
