Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Architect, of Bangor, Co. Down. John Moore, a son of Arthur B. Moore, wine mechant, and his wife, Thomasina, was born in Belfast, circa 1887.(1)  He was a pupil of BLACKWOOD & BLACKWOOD & amp; JURY in 1907 when he passed the preliminary examination of the RIBA to qualify for registration as a probationer.(2) In 1908 he was appointed town surveyor for Donaghadee, Co. Down, following the resignation of THOMAS PENTLAND. THOMAS PENTLAND. (3) By 1918 he had been succeeded in the post by WILLIAM DAVID REDMOND TAGGART. WILLIAM DAVID REDMOND TAGGART. (4)
