Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Engineer. Daniel Monks, a son of William Monks, worked as assistant to RICHARD EVANS  RICHARD EVANS on the Boyne navigation in the 1790s(1) before being placed in charge of the repair and improvement of the Coalisland Canal in about 1800. He died in 1810. John Monks, a contractor, who executed ten lock gates on the Boyne Navigation in the 1790s was possibly a relation.
