Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Architect and measurer, of Dublin. For four years in succession, between 1832 and 1835, John Mettam was awarded prizes by the Royal Dublin Society's School of Architectural Drawing.(1) In 1842 he applied unsuccessfully to succeed JOHN THOMAS PAPWORTH  JOHN THOMAS PAPWORTH as master of the School.(2) He appears in the directories from 1843 until 1853 or later, his address being given throughout as 3 Wentworth Terrace.
