Architect, who signed St John's Catholic church, Killowen, Coleraine, dedicated 1836. Kirkpatrick, who was probably a member of a family of builders which was active in the Coleraine area in the early nineteenth century,(1) may have been the executant rather than the designer; the Catholic Directory for 1837 asserts that the church was built 'according to the design of a most celebrated architect'.(2) Perhaps the same person as the John Kirkpatrick of Ballylough, co. Antrim, who leased property in Ballylough from the Rev. Anthony Trail, Archdeacon of Connor, for twenty-five years on 8 November 1831. (3)
