Slater, of Dublin, active in the 1720s and 1730s. An advertisement in the Dublin Weekly Journal for 8 May 1725 informs the public that 'Richard Betts, Slater, removed from St Audion's Arch to the Batchellors Walk, continues to sell Slates, Tyles and Laths, with due Attendance'. Betts was one of the three representatives of the Guild of Carpenters on the Common Council of Dublin, 1729-1732.(1) He was paid £7.8s.5¾d. for slating the Printing House at Trinity College, Dublin, on 11 March 1835.(2)
