Sculptor, of Dublin and London, for whom see W.G. Strickland, A Dictionary of Irish Artists (1913), I, 480-482. John Hickey was born in Dublin in 1756, the fourth son of Noah Hickey, a confectioner in Capel Street. He studied in the Dublin Society's schools and afterwards with RICHARD CRANFIELD RICHARD CRANFIELD . In 1777, when he was twenty-one, he went to London, where he remained until his death in 1795.
