J.G. Hare was an assistant engineer with Cork Corporation before emigrating to Canada in 1909.(1) In Canada he became superintendent of the East York Hydro Commission. He died in Canada in 1939. He may possibly be the Jonathan G. Hare of Cork who exhibited architectural drawings at the Cork Industrial Exhibition in 1883.(2)

All information in this entry not otherwise accounted for is from the brief obituary of Hare in IB 81, 24 Jun 1939, 539. According to Aoife Ni Bhraoin, College Archives, University College Cork, Hare did not attend the college.
