Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Architect, of Dublin, who submitted two plans for the Royal Exchange, Dublin, in the competition of 1768-69.(1) He may be the same person as the William Barber who was awarded a premium by the Dublin Society's School of Drawing in Architecture in 1767.(2) A Mr Barber, described as master builder of Great George's Street, exhibited designs for a nobleman's house and a temple and an elevation of the Royal Exchange, London, at the Society of Artists in Ireland in 1768.(3)
