Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Civil engineer, of Dublin. According to his 1901 census return, John William Gardner was born in Birmingham in 1864 or 1865. He is presumably the 'J.W. Gardiner' of Dublin who was responsible for sewerage work at Ferns, Co. Wexford, in 1903(1) and the 'J. Gardner' of Dublin who designed the soldiers' home at Cahir barracks in 1906.(2)

Gardner died suddenly in 1908 or 1909.(3)  He was married to Louisa Helen, but had no children at the time of the 1901 census.
