Christopher Galwey was appointed an assistant county surveyor for Co. Kilkenny in the place of a Mr Rafter in the summer of 1872.(1) However his name does not appear among the assistant surveyors for the county in Thom's Directory for 1875. Nothing further is known of him. He may possibly be the same person as Christopher Galwey, fourth son of Edward Galwey of Doon, Co. Clare, who settled in New Zealand.(2)
