Nature: | 'The corn market is situated at the north side of the island, close by the shore near the west centre of the town. It consists of an enclosed yard of about 150 feet by 45, with a range of stores along its north side. Built by the corporation in 1830 at the expense of 585 pounds, architect Mr Frith.' |
