Engineer. John Joseph Fleming, who, according to his 1911 census return, was born in Waterford in 1874 or 1875, worked in the office of his father, MICHAEL JOSEPH FLEMING MICHAEL JOSEPH FLEMING , borough surveyor for Waterford City, from about 1881 and was resident engineer for the city's main drainage scheme. He succeeded his father as borough surveyor in 1910 and remained in the post until 1922 or later. At the time of the 1911 census he was unmarried and living with his widowed mother and sister.
ICEI: elected associate member, 7 January 1903; name no longer appears in list of members for 1924.
Surveyors' Institute: associate member by 1905.
